India Game Developer Conference – IGDC 2019 on November 22nd, 23rd at HICC Hyderabad

India Game Developer Conference (IGDC) will happen on November 22nd and 23rd, 2019 at Hyderabad Internation Convention Center (HICC), Hyderabad.

The who’s who of game industry from India and from across the world will participate in IGDC.

IGDC will see a variety of events and sessions – ranging from knowledge sharing lecture sessions by industry experts and eminent attendees to networking sessions for leadership level people and even investor sessions – where game industry companies will have a chance to meet and pitch their game ideas and business plans to Indian and foreign investors there was the event.

IGDC Background and History

IGDC 2019 will be the 11th edition of Indian Game Developer Conference – organized by the Indian Gaming Forum (IGF)- an Industry body governed by a board of nominees and representatives from industry, academia and institutional bodies representing a cross section of the Indian gaming industry.

In it’s earlier years, IGDC was called NGDC or NASSCOM Game Developer Conference – and was earlier conducted by the same forum of industry representatives then under the aegis of NASSCOM – the National Association of Software and Services Companies of India.

A decade ago, when IGDC started, gaming was unchartered territory and till today there is a huge void of game developer in India. India’s culture and heritage offer tremendous content development opportunities for game developers, and this is a great opportunity for the industry to grow. “To drive this progress, talent must rise”, says Rajesh Rao, Chairperson IGDC 2019 (India Game Developer Conference 2019).

The gaming industry estimated to be worth $120 billion, is the largest segment within the entertainment industry, led by China, USA, Europe, Japan and Korea.The significant increase in the internet access is facilitating growth in the gaming industry with close to 87% of the entire world population having access to the World Wide Web.

Previous editions of IGDC have seen industry veterans ranging from Trip Hawkins founder of Electronic Arts to Ernest Adams – world famous game designer and author to Rami Ismail world famous Indie Developer to the heads of major Japanese Gaming companies to many many other interesting and eminent people. This year’s event too, promises to bring the best of the best in the world of gaming to India and put them in front of the Indian audience which is hungry to learn more and eager to compete and collaborate with the best in the world.
